so now that we've actually accomplished the activities for said days, it's much more appropriate to blog about them.
december 10th: make gingerbread houses.
i went the old school route, as previously mentioned, and we made one 3 story house out of graham crackers and an eggnog carton (thanks weston). it's a little drippy, but it's kate's, right? she had fun and everytime she sees it, she cracks up that it's her gingerbread house.
december 13th: go to the movies as a family. we couldn't do that yesterday, so we went tonight. we saw fantastic mr. fox. it did not disappoint. kate watched a very good portion of the movie and enjoyed eating her pizza in the theater ... i know, we're scoundrels. we planned to eat at weston's office before going to the movie, but papa john's decided to be very disorganized tonight and their pickup time was actually 30 minutes longer than i was told. blah. alex, i think you'd be very proud of your mr. fox :) the coolest part about this movie is that it was all done in stop motion animation. very impressive.
december 14th: go see the elves at gardner village. i took kate this afternoon and, despite the photo evidence (she just looks really bored), she had a really good time and wouldn't stop talking about the elves and how much fun they were. we had a full day today! but i think kate had a lot of fun and, surprisingly, so did mom :)

2 quick quips:
I've never been to Gardner Village, and I definitley didn't know they had elves and stuff there. I love all the traditions you are starting with your family. Gives me lots of good ideas for the years coming up!
Where's the elves village?? How fun! I've decided to make an advent calendar for next year in January - and I'm scheduling out my Christmas preparations on my calendar at the same time. I'm determined to actually enjoy Christmas next year!
