painting pumpkins

since we're still too little to mess with carving pumpkins, we painted again this year.  kate has been asking for the last 3 days to do this so this morning i got out my old drill team shirt (circa freshman year 1993!) and suited her up with paints, brushes, and plates.
 
 while she doesn't look very excited, i assure you, she was!
she's got mad skills!

I love the finished product! Funnily enough my girl painted a pumpkin this year and it turned out eerily like Kate's!

I love this idea. Then they will actually last for more than one day, and the kids can actually do it. I'm so excited for Paige to actually like doing little things like this. Sometimes it seems like holidays are all for the kids anyway.
